Frequently asked questions

What does TapMinutes do?

TapMinutes records your meetings and uses on-device AI to produce clean, structured minutes in seconds — including summaries, action items, decisions, and key points. Everything stays private on your device until you choose to share it.

Do my recordings leave my device?

Live captions and transcription run entirely on-device using Apple's speech frameworks. Audio is never uploaded to any server. You can export minutes as a PDF or text file whenever you're ready.

Which iOS version is required?

TapMinutes requires iOS 26 or later. On-device live captions require a device with an A17 Pro chip or newer (iPhone 15 Pro and above).

Can I import an existing audio or video file?

Yes. Tap the import button on the home screen and choose a file from Files, iCloud Drive, or any share sheet. TapMinutes will transcribe and generate minutes without needing to re-record.

How do custom presets work?

Presets let you choose how minutes are styled — executive summary, action-focused, detailed notes, and more. You can also create your own preset with a custom prompt. Presets are applied per-recording and can be changed at any time; regenerating minutes from the transcript is instant.

What is PDF export?

After minutes are generated, tap Export → PDF to produce a polished, shareable document. The layout includes the meeting title, date, attendees (if entered), and all structured sections.

How do I use Siri shortcuts with TapMinutes?

Open the Shortcuts app, search for TapMinutes actions, and add them to any shortcut or automation. You can start a recording, stop it, and export minutes — all hands-free.

Something is broken — what should I do?

First try force-quitting and relaunching the app. If the problem persists, email us at [email protected] with your device model, iOS version, and a brief description of what happened. Screenshots are always helpful.
